The dental practice at 30 Beaumont Street was established in 1933. It was the first practice in Oxford to employ an oral hygienist.
There are three dentists working at the practice and they share the reception. Ask for Charl du Toit or Fabrizio Castellari by name.
Charl du Toit
(BChD Pret.) qualified in 1991 in Pretoria, South Africa. A private practitioner in England since 2001, he has practices in both Berkshire and Oxfordshire, UK. Charl has a special interest in restorative dentistry; introducing digital impressions to his practices’ in 2013. Charl has lectured internationally highlighting the positive effect of digital dentistry in his dental practice and how it has changed his work-flow forever.
Charl is a member of the British Society of Occlusal Studies and has a special interest in the relationship between the fit of the teeth, jaw joint and the muscles of mastication. He offers a range of high quality dental treatments from crown and bridge work to teeth whitening and aesthetic dentistry.
Our reception is manned by three receptionists. There will usually be two receptionists on duty except over lunch where one will man the stations. Please feel free to phone or email the reception where one of our friendly receptionists will be able to help you on your dental journey with us.
Practice Manager. Yvonne does most of the administration. She will do referrals, keep the practice compliant with regulations and even help with reception when needed.
At the practice we have a number of hygienists who use their own surgeries. All hygienists are highly skilled and form an integral part in helping our patients maintain good oral health. It is good practice to have your teeth professionally cleaned twice a year. The hygienist also looks at the general health of your gums and dentition and will recommend a visit to Dr Charl du Toit if they notice something out of order.
Mrs Suzanne Martin
Miss Josefine Voghoui
As a hygienist, our role includes screening for gum disease and assessing oral hygiene, as well as providing a scale and polish or non surgical gum therapy known as root surface debridement. A big and important part of our role is also patient education and motivation so that our patients can keep their gums and teeth healthy and free of dental decay. By providing a relaxed atmosphere and personal approach, we are able to put all of our patients at ease and make sure that they leave with a smile on their face.
Tais Guzman is nursing for us. She enjoys dental nursing and is very good at cleaning the surgery between patients. Cross infection control is very important to her. She manages the surgery and helps Charl with the dental procedures.
